Ar15 bolt assembly help

I took apart my rifle to clean and oil everything, however this was my first time disassembling the bolt.Everything went as planned cleaned it, went to put it back together now the firing pin retaining pin won't go all the way back in, any reason why?
It goes most of the way in but sticks out to far and wont go back into the upper because of it..

Push down on the pin when it is about half way through. Maintain downward pressure and finish pushing it through.

i had to work mine in due to the bolt being brand new

I keep trying that but it seems like it wont fit into the hole on the other side..

try rotating it while pushing down, all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

Make sure the bolt is in the forewardmost position and cam is rotated so that the hole in the cam is open to accept firing pin. If it went together once something is misaligned.

It went together I just wasn't applying enough pressure, afraid of breaking it. Thanks for the help everybody
