AR30 Stock Adapter

I saw at Shot Show (this may of been talked about all ready but) there is an adapter in the works where you can install any AR stock on an AR30 rifle. Armalite said IF they get enough good response from the adapter, they will produce it.

They said they had a 260 AR at last years show but they did not get enough good response so they canned the 260 rifle. Its sad as I want a 260 AR but don't like the DPMS 260 AR.

So if you want a different stock for the AR30, you better respond or it will be canned too.

Funny, I already contacted them about one last year. They said no go and I was about ready to make a tube my self that would fit an AR stock, and weld it to a made piece like the one that fits in the AR30 now. Only problem is finding something light to use. If armalite would do this it would be great since the AR30 is a very good gun for the price in my book, but the stock/cheek rest really is junk.I want to put the CAA SRS sniper stock on it, which is fits me very well and has a nice monopod.

We’re looking at either developing an adjustable buttstock or having a 3rd party manufacturer make one that will work on all past and present AR-30’s. We haven’t done this as of yet and I don’t know when this will come to fruition. We don’t have a mono-pod for the AR-30 and I don’t know whether we’re looking to do this or not at this time. The AR-50 mono-pod won’t work on the AR-30. No 3rd party manufacturers make a mono-pod for the AR-30.

If you guys will make an adapter to fit the Magpul PRS, we will deal with the mono-pod ourselves. Thanks for looking into this. We eagerly await your progress!!

This adapter is made by Allied Precision Arms for Armalite. He has them in stock now. Google Allied Precision Arms and email Larry.

I got one a few months ago for my AR-30...looks great! Super simple, like every. I think it was $75, delivered.

Haven't tried mine out yet. I'm cruising for bargains on a Magpul PRS all the time though, just for this.

Don't get me wrong. I like the PRS and run one on my AR10. However when you start sticking them on the end of adapters that push the LOP out, you are jacking up the ergo's of the platform (unless you have gorilla arms).

If it's comfortable for you...drive on!

Last time I checked, Armalite didn't seem to believe in any ERGONOMICS when they made the AR-30.

Damn things shoots great but the ERGOS suck.

Anyone tried a Magpul collapsible of some sort on one of these?

I got the adapter and ordered the ar/15 version magpul prs and they sent me the 308 version by accident, so I'm waiting to get the other one, I noticed I still needed to be just a bit more forward to get proper eye relief on my mark 4 at 25 zoom. So I'm hoping with the little bit extra cheek rest forward and pull the scope back as much as I can it'll be just perfect.

The only issue you might double check is that you can remove your bolt with the cheek rest up on the AR15 PRS. The extra length on the AR10 version allows for this. As stated above, ergonomics is not in the cards when discussing the AR30. Getting it to function in a reasonable fashion is the focus. They seem to have engineered the AR50 stock system pretty well, but totally dropped the ball when it came to the AR30. Must have been late on Friday night when it left the drafting table
