ARC Magazine, LRI follow, still doesn't feed worth a shit

473 bolt face (6x47, 6.5 x 47 and others). These has been in a parts box for some time because even with the replacement LRI follower, it still doesn't feed like it should.

Could someone post some pics of a working combo, and did you have to tweak the feed lips? I had 3, sold one some time ago, and would like to get these working if possible.

I’ve had to tweak the feed lips on AICS mags. That’s where I would start depending on the severity of your problem.

I gave my Arc and MDT mags away and went to Accurate mags. Put mkm followers in the ARC mags too. I think I spent as much on mags as I did a new barrel this year....

Couldn't get the ARC mags or MDT mags to not bind up inside.

Stick followers, no adjustment to 260 and mild feed lip bend on 7 saum.
Besides lip adjustment insertion height adjustments are often a factor

Mine fed dasher like a champ. It's my most reliable mag other than my AW's. I don't think I ever had a misfeed in my old match rifle.

When I first got my ARC mags, I tried them with 6.5 Creedmoor and .308, and couldn't get them to work reliably with either cartridge.

I tried them with 6BRA recently in 2 different rifles, and they worked great. Haven't had a single feeding issue in my cursory use yet, though haven't put them through the ringer yet. I'm looking to get the LRI followers to test those.

I've heard that the feeding issues with ARC mag stems from the pressure when the cartridges move from the double feed formation to single feed formation. If this is the case, then it would make sense that the smaller/shorter cartridges such as the BR variants would feed better. Less surface area to apply pressure and friction to the magazine walls.

I also wonder if further "scalloping"/reducing the surface area between the followers and the magazine body would further alleviate any issues.

I had trouble in mine and tried the LRI and MKM followers with no improvement.

I figured out that they need to be clean and lubricated to run reliably. I have found that lock lock deicer/lubricant works well to keep the followers moving freely.

I have an ARC mag with the LRI follower. Used it for a year with no issues before I moved to an AW on a friends recommendation. Since then the only time it’s ever hung up on me is when I’ve forgotten to clean the sizing lube off the rounds and the sizing lube gets in the magazine and gums it up. Like what was said above. Clean it semi regularly and it’ll work great

Polish, smooth out and tweak the feed lips and as long as your clean them every now and then you won’t have issues. The compact size really helps in some positional stages.
If you’re shooting a really dirty match though I’d strip them and clean them every night. I made that mistake after shooting laying in sand for two day and it cost me points on the last stage at the end of the second day. Now I just use Hornady one shot dry lube and no dramas.

Mine haven't been used enough to get dirty because of the feeding problems I've encountered, but if I do get to a point where they are being used regularly I will clean them periodically. Appreciate the suggestions.

I use arc mags in my 25 creed. When I first received them they were the most inconsistent and unreliable mag I’ve ever used. Was going too throw them out when I decided to remove some material off the face of the follower and now they run flawlessly. Been using them for 2 seasons without a single hiccup

Exactly as @rydah said. Keep em clean, and dry lube.

They are the only mag I had to clean after every match, or every day. If you have squeeky clean immaculate brass, I found that also was an issue. Having "not as clean" brass on the outside actually helped. Lightly tumbled, OR! 0000 steel wool, and just run the neck, and then do your usual anneal / size / whatever routine.

MDT I found worse than arc. I ran arc with stock followers for all of 2019 reason with 243ai flawlessly for 1600 rounds, 2 mags.

I’ve read of a few people trimmed the front area of the followers.
