Gunsmithing Are the Action Threads the Same for the LA AI-AX vs. LA AW??

So I bought a .300 Norma Mag barrel from a member here on the Hide that was fitted from GAP for an AI AX or AW in long action.
When I received the barrel I noticed the treads were to small and wouldn't fit with my 2014 AI-AX LA.
I measured my original AI-AX .338 LM barrel and the treads measure 29mm and then I measured the threads on the barrel I bought and they measure 27mm.
Do the newer 2014 AI-AX LA and the older AI-AW barrels not interchange?
Have all the AI-AX LA barrels been the larger 29mm size?

The older AWSM had the smaller thread tenon. All of the Long action AX's have the larger tenon.
