So I bought my first set of Burris Signature Zee rings after reading many positive comments. I installed them per the directions, but I noticed that after I leveled the scope crosshairs and then got them all bolted up tight that the inserts touch on one side, but have a gap on the other side. Is this normal? Or should there be a small gap on both sides? I'm just wondering if I should go back and redo this. Or if it's fine to leave it? I had a heck of a time getting this scope level as my level didn't fit on the base under it well at all. So I'm hoping it's fine, but wanted to double check. I'm not sure how to get it any different either though.

You can see how they are touching here.

You can see the gap on this side.

Those are not reducers. The Burris Sig rings are built with the polymer inserts for various reasons.
I dont see an issue with the photos other than it aint purty.

Re: Are these Burris Zee rings installed correctly?

Well, first off those are not reducers. They are called inserts in this case.

I use them on my F/TR rifle and they do a fine job.
Plus you don't need to worry about lapping or putting any ring marks on your scope.

Your'e fine.

</div></div>The regular Burris Zee rings don't have the inserts. Or at least that's my understanding. The Signature Zee rings however do have the inserts. You can also get offset inserts if you need to ship a scope, but I'm just using the standard non offset ones that came with it. I just need to get it sighted in and see how it shoots. It shot damn good with a cheap Simmons and some crappy rings, but I found this Nikon on here cheap enough that I could afford it, so I'm hoping it shoots just as good now.

Re: Are these Burris Zee rings installed correctly?

I have the signature zee rings, and there is a small gap, not as pronounced as in the picture, but it does exist. I didn't even notice it until I went and checked. I don't know if it's any help, but I haven't had any issues with the rings, scope, or the way it shoots.

Re: Are these Burris Zee rings installed correctly?

Yeah - I worried about that when I installed mine. I mucked about and got an equal gap on both sides.
I bet in made 2/3 of f-all of a difference!

You'll be alright.

They are great rings BTW, those inserts are just genius - protect teh scope, use in combination to achieve a multitude of cants. Correct misalignment in the mounts... ahhh. Engineering!

Re: Are these Burris Zee rings installed correctly?

Those inserts are nice to have. You can get up to 40 MOA of cant with a flat base. They have them for 1" or 30mm tubes. The 30mm rings actually come with a set of "0" and 10 MOA inserts. Dont have to lap rings.

Re: Are these Burris Zee rings installed correctly?

I forgot to update this thread. I shot the rifle and sighted the scope in with no problems. Shoots great just like it did with the cheapo rings that were on it.
