Are Tikka barrels "slow"?

I picked up a Tikka T3X TAC A1 a couple months ago. 24" 6.5CM. All of the published data says my nearly max load of 42.2gr RL-17 / 140gr ELD-M says I should be getting about 2800fps. The magnetospeed is telling me 2665fps consistently over several batches and various environmental conditions.

I can't complain about precision or accuracy, I'm just curious if this is typical.

Edit: google is my friend...should have searched first seems I'm not the only one with this issue. Carry on.

Switch to RL16. I ran that in my 20" Tikka. Yes, they're slow barrels. My load got me to 2680 with the 140's and I had a 20". Ditch RL17... It's temp issue should be enough to make you run.

My 24” is 75 fps slower with factory Hornady American gunner than my MPA rifle with spencer barrel of the same length. I can hit what I point it at, I just have to put a few more clicks in my turret.

Slower, but is your barrel accurate? It’s still a factory barrel on a lower priced rifle. Accurate and slower > Fast and doesn’t group well

(not helpful for competition)

Accuracy is terrific. So my question has more to do with general knowledge and a minor impact on fudge factor during matches. Not a big deal at all.
