I just installed a 419 adapter, should i run the tapered interface and threads for the brake dry, or should I use oil or anti-sieze on them? I dont want it to come loose, but I dont want it to carbon lock either. I will probably change between the can and brake regularly, unless unless poi shifts are not repeatable.

Machine tapers are meant to run dry, otherwise the surfaces float off of one another. I suspect the people who have issues with the 419 system shooting loose or shifting are likely lubing the taper.

I clean the taper occasionally with a solvent patch to keep anything building up below the o-ring.

Please do not add lubrication to your taper surfaces. They are meant to run dry. If you have them lubricated, use brake cleaner or an alcohol wipe to remove the lubricant. The system, given that 100% of universal adapters are nitrided, should never require any sort of anti-seize, grease, or lubricant. This is the #2 reason for issues with the brakes, #1 being steel tumbling them and getting pins in the locking ring, which can cause failure and/or misalignment.
