If I want to put an ARCA rail in place of my picatinny rail what all will I need or is suggested? Should I go with a 12” or 14” rail and barricade stop? My Bipods are all setup for pic rails, so I assume i will either have to buy an adapter to pic rail or an ARCA Swiss attachment for the bipod. Is this a solid setup?

Area 419 Universal ARCA on Manners T4A setup?

I know there is a thread on here somewhere about mounting one. They used a forstner drill bit I think to drill in the barrel channel and install 10-32 t-nuts. Can send it back to manners for them to install hardware if you dont think you can do it yourself.
I have the 14in with barricade stop on mine but had an mlok rail inletted on the bottom so I just use the action bolt and a few mlok hardware spaced out. I no longer use the 2inches beyond the end of the stock for my bipod after hearing frank talk about the flex in it unsupported and it did make a difference in my shooting so 12 in would work.
You can buy a pic to arca adapter but its more added height if that matters to you. I like the rrs mounts that go right on the bipod since they work for both pic and arca.

I went with the 14" rail with the barricade stop on my T5A. I only used the 2 screws where I had sling studs mounted to hold the rail in place. It seems to hold it firm enough since I didn't want to get into drilling T-nut mounting points into my stock.
The only thing I’d add is that on a T2A with the 419 rail, I too ran the front two legacy sling stud t-nut mounts but had to also run two washers in between the Arca rail and stock at the front action /rear rail screw to ensure no undue stress on the rail and solid lock up on the action.
My T4A isn't flat between the action screw and the front sling stud (pic rail) screws. When you put a flat edge between the two points there is a gap in the middle of the. If I were to install an Arca rail I'd have to bed the rail against the stock. It wouldn't be hard but even drilling the stock for T-nuts isn't enough, there is more to the rail installation.
This is why I run the two washers that Area 419 recommends...very simple install with no mods required. If you look closely, you can see the gap and the washers. This is exactly how 419 recommends you run it...I’ve had zero issues over the last couple seasons.
I'm not going to go to the trouble of making permanent alterations to a $1300 stock and just shove some washers between the rail and the stock. Nevermind the fact that Manners stocks are hand made and the likelihood of the washers being the correct thickness is low.

Area 419 makes an ARCA rail adaptor for a Manners T6. It does not work with a T2. I made an adaptor for my T2A stocks from flat aluminum. I think it was 3/16 thick and the front action screw goes through it. The front of the rail on mine attach with screws to what were sling studs.
I really like the flexibility for where you can set the bipod. The barricade stop works ok, but not great. I have 12" rails on 2 rifles.

Has anyone had any issues with changing the action screws? I talked with Ingenuity Gunwerks today and his system looks pretty awesome to me. I know its more expensive but you can also attach an ARCA rail to it if you want to run an attachment that he doesn’t make.
I have mounted the Area 419 14" universal dovetail rail to a Manners T3 and a 12" universal dovetail rail to a Manners T2A GAP. The rail on the T2A bolted right on using the rear action screw and the existing studs for sling swivels and it needed no spacers as the T2A GAP stock is flat all along the bottom of the forend. The T3 required a couple of nylon washers as spacers between rail and the stock at the rear.
Both stocks required a longer action screw which I took the long one that Area 419 includes and cut it down with a Dremel cutoff wheel till it was the right length. I then finished the cutoff action screw with a fine file and cold blue.

I have a T4a and I installed the universal Area419 rail with the barricade stop. I only used the 2 front bipod pic rail mounting holes and the front action screw. It works great. Really no flex at all in the system. You can get a universal kit that comes with the rail, all the hardware, a bipod dovetail clamp and a sliding barricade stop.
I just put a 12" area 419 on my T4a last night. I didn't like the gap from the CTR bottom metal using the front action screw, so I just pushed it forward and added 2 t-nuts further back. For me, it's still able to clamp far enough forward that the magazine would hit the tripod legs when panning.
