Armageddon Gear or Rifles Only?

Have/had same issue but I find that after i cinch it into position if I pinch the buckle it "sets" it in the webbing and it wont move. While its one more step in getting into the sling I find the ease and speed of releasing it to be advantageous.

I have 2 Armageddon Gear covers for my 5.56 and 30cal cans. Love em- easy to cinch down and set. As long as you have the rear part of the cover ~1/8" off the back, it will close up slightly when you tighten the bungees and never slip forward.

I also have 2 Burn Proof Gear covers for my other 30cal cans that I bought as part of a group buy deal. They were tricky and slid forward at first. However after contacting them there is a recommended method to cinch them down. It's not as intuitive as the Armageddon Gear covers but just as effective- no slippage since following their instructions.

Just for info my experience with the above are shooting 308win, 6creed, 6.5creed, and 6.5SAUM.

Slings are about on par with each other but the Rifles Only mirage covers are much better than Armageddon gears. I had the Armageddon gear on my Harvester and it only lasted about a year. I just recently replaced it with the FTW MAD from RO. I have another MAD on my TBAC 30P1 that I've had for several years and it's held up nicely. Personally I'd go with RO.

I have a FTW cover and I couldn't get it tight enough with the cord that it wouldn't slip forward after about ten rounds. I finally used zip ties cinched as tight as I could get them with pliers. Haven't shot it that way yet, but if that doesn't work I'll try a different brand. I get tired of reaching up and sliding it back.

For what it's worth I have the Armageddon sling and find it excellent for positional shooting, be it in comps or in the field hunting. The cuff is very easy to get into or out of, alternatively you can use the sling in a more traditional hasty manner. I like the simple adjustment.
i can only compare it to the TAB Gear sling, which is good but a bit to complex for me

Sounds like the Armageddon suppressor covers are the way to go. Is there something unique/special about the Rifles Only sling compared to the Armageddon one? Seems to be quite a bit pricier. (Plus I wouldn't have to pay more for shipping if I just buy it with the Armageddon suppressor covers :D )

Here's a picture of both of them. FTW from RO on the left. Armageddon on the right. You can see the difference in how they're made. The FTW has probably twice as many rounds as the Armageddon gear and is still holding strong. The Armageddon gear is falling apart after a little over a years worth of use. I've tried them all, TAB, Armageddon, FTW. In my opinion and from my experience the FTW wins hands down.

Oh wow, that does look like a big difference. Any experience with the new Skinny RO cover?

And what does the RO sling offer over the Armageddon for the price difference?

No I have t tried the new skinny cover. Not sure in the Sling differences. I know a lot of guys get the Carbine sling from RO which is what I run. The bungie system is nice for shooting off barricades.

I don't have any experience with the RO sling but I have the new Armageddon Gear rifle sling with the flat bungie, very nice, comfortable and easy to use the cuff if you like. Would definitely recommend it.

Tried my new RO had yesterday, put 200 rounds through it. It did slip forward every 20-30 shots, I've heard from others say that once it gets broke in that it stays tight.

I was having the same problem with the RO HAD sliding forward so I used a bunch of shock cord which helped stop it. Then I went down to RO for one of his classes and he said that the rope they use is a special high-heat rope. He showed me the proper way to loop the rope behind the can and I haven't had a single issue with it moving forward.

For everyone having trouble with the HAD or MAD moving forward, follow these directions:
