What kind of groups can be had with an Armalite .308 20" pencil "lite contour" barrel with hand loads.....compared to a heavy barrel or bull barrel....thanks in advance for the info.

The standard Armalite barrel on their 20" AR-10 rifles is not a "pencil" barrel by any means, but I know what you are saying in comparison to a heavy or bull bbl. The standard AR-10A4 barrels are 0.75" at the gas block and only slightly thinner than that forward of the gas block.

In their normal configuration, with the non-free floated handguards, they'll run under 2MOA with decent ammo. They are decent quality barrels and built for a lengthy service life with chrome lining. But as always...the barrel is only part of the equation. I have put PRI and other free-float handguards in place of the standard A4 handguards and, again with quality ammo, you can get the groups below 1.5MOA and approaching MOA with some load development and trigger time.

The Armalite 10(T) heavy barrels are capable of sub-MOA accuracy and most will shoot well below that with a good shooter and proper ammo.

I have the standard weight SS barrel on mine. I just traded for it and it is shooting around 1.5" on average. I ordered a free floating handguard for it hoping that will put it around an inch.
