I had the opportunity to attend the Army Mountain Warfare School's Mountain Rifleman Course in November and its a must for the Army sniper, both active and guard. Commanders need to program this course into a snipers pipeline. The USMC has it right with their Scout Sniper pipeline. The Army needs to follow suit, implement courses like AMWS and team leader, unit leader courses to grow the greatest offensive and defensive all weather Firing platform, the sniper.

I don't understand why the Army keeps stepping on its own feet. 15 to 20 years ago we tried to get the official Designated Marksman program up and running to be implemented Army wide. It would have been a step in the right direction to get advanced shooters the training for distance shooting while prepping them for USASS. Snipers should focus on that one shot in distance while Designated Marksman positions worry about multiple targets from 300 to 500m. Just 2 cents. Glad to see some decent training out there!

We just had someone graduate and he spoke highly of it also, specifically on the alternate methods of land navigation by altimeter. I don't think it's benefits have been pitched widely enough, the 3 main schools everyone generally thinks of it as their measuring stick, even though airborne is seldom used outside of a few units.
