Lies lies lies!! At the February SHOT show, Ashbury told me their Saber stock would be available in late April or May 2010. Well, that came and went without any announcement from Ashbury.

Does anyone have good intel on when the Saber stock will be available for us civilians?

Yeah, deadly's right on this one. Lots of pushed back dates because of no production set up (obviously.) So it will continue to be vaporware for as long as they please, or as long as they take to get machines set up. Or it could be something frivolous, who knows.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

I have an Ashbury coming, they sent me a complete build this week.

I believe a stock will be coming as well and I know Mike Miller used one.

They are working on another project not firearms related, but they are definitely moving forward.

I will talk to Matthew and see if he included a chassis, but I know I will be reviewing them as the competition series will be moving forward for civilian sales.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

Well I can tell you that you guys are confusing the military models with the competition series.

They haven't stopped moving forward on the military side, however the competitions series I don't think will even be announced until at least Sept. I have been in communication with them and it is the case of two different focuses being narrowed to one. It is difficult to take what is being said at Shot as gospel, their primary focus is the military, so things get confused when you guys talk to them when they are in PSR mode.

In fact I am getting the M40/PSR system right from the SOF demo, I had to wait until the military finished with it.

Trust me, the Civilian Competition series is on the way, that has been made clear, which includes the Saber Chassis. The civy version.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

I used one for about two months. Fit and finish are very nice. Folder mech. is SWEEEET! Its fully adjustable. I wish the stock I tested had the full length rail system. I see lots of potential in these stocks. Can go into details because of a non disclosuer agreement. I only tested for eval and sent eval to them. Frank should be able to give details after he gives it a go.

Ashbry always ahs fourteen feet in the fire at one time so it takes a little longer for civilian stuff to get out there.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

Primarily the price, and how it will initially be configured. I hope I am not talking out of school, but the competition Series is supposed to be under $3k, with several different models. The mil spec version will be more expensive and be mission specific and set up different. I think that chassis will be over $3k.

Think of it like an AE versus an AW.

Same thoughts, if they brought it down to2k with the tan anodizing, id think about it.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

Ashbury told me that the price of the basic mil chassis would be $1000 or $1200, I can't remember, but I posted on this in Feb after the show. Frankly, I couldn't believe the price because it looks alot more expensive to make than an AICS.

I hope they come out with the FDE color; George Gardner built the Ashbury rifles at the SHOT show, so maybe he has access to other products.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

I had heard of the $1200 starting point but that may have changed, I haven't gotten into the specifics of the Competition Series as far as where they landed with price.

As I stated, they are sending me a rifle for the site, as well I believe I will have access to several other products, the FFS Program commissioned by Ashbury, the "Tactical" version, which I like a lot. And I have asked about the Sniper Tool Kit which I think would be a worthy addition for the guys on here.

Once i dig into this stuff I will clarify with Mo on the costs and availability.

Id put my faith in what Frank is saying seeing how he has been in contact with ASHBURY and not what he read on the net. Just sayin

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

I thought the barreled actions were done by Surgeon and dropped into their chassis system. I talked with the guys at Ashbury for awhile and was put on a "waiting list" for the chassis availability. We will see where that ends up

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

I spoke with Mo on Friday at length. Production is ramping up, some 500 units should be done shortly. Documents should go out to dealers/distributors some time next week. They are quite swamped with some agency orders, and it's been a challenge to get pricing and production finalized with the M40 upgrade and various other projects taking a priority. Realize that they have never had a civvie program before, so in some respects it's rather a starup operation for them. The computer ordering system is up, so things should start happening shortly.

I've done quite a bit of work with this system since day one, trust me, it's worth the wait.

Austin, just to clarify, I did not read this on the net, I talked to an authorized Ashbury dealer.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

Um, I just became interested in Ashbury after the write-up in Special Weaspons. There's a TCR-300 on Gunbroker right now. Dunno if it's legit, but figured you would want to know. There are whole rifle pics up, too.

Your best bet is CoryT on here. He got me my stock very very quickly.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

I shot CoryT's Ashbury rifle in 338 lapua, at 1 mile. It is a bad ass rifle, I can tell you that what ever the wait is it will be well worth the wait. Maybe one day I will have one.

Re: Ashbury Saber stock?

the Ashbury chassis has been available for awhile now. You have to order from one of their distributors though. Unfortunately for you guys who have more money than me, I lost the contact info.

I talked to one of the sales reps from the distributors and he told me what he had in stock and what he didnt. This was in March of this year.

ETA: found the distributor. Call TSSI at 1-877-535-8774 and tell them you want to buy an Ashbury Saber-Forsst chassis.
