I am sure this has been beaten to death but wanted to know what the laws are in regards to assault rifles and magazine capacity for the state of Connecticut. I am currently doing firearms instruction in NY state and have to abide by their restrictions. For example all of my AR 15's have pinned stocks, so the do not telescope, pinned and welded flash hiders and pre ban magazines. Would I be able to use these for instruction in Connecticut? Does CT allow me to you post ban magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds for rifle and pistol? I looked into the laws online and to be honest interpretation of law is not my strong suit any help or advice you guys give would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Assault Rifle and Magazine Limits for CT

Good to know, do I need to pin and weld the flash hiders and stock like in NY? In case I wanted to use a dedicated rifle just for teaching in CT that will stay there and I don't have to alter it. What about SBRs, threaded pistol barrels and suppressors?

Re: Assault Rifle and Magazine Limits for CT

Then I worked in CT at a gun store I had to take the CT State firearms sales class. I had moved from TX and had three assault type of rifles (AR,M-14,and HK USC) and they instructor told me that the rifles I had not being Pre-Ban were not Legal in CT. I know SBR,and other Class 3 are ok but they are a pain in the ass to go shoot up there.
(This has been like 5 years so I am going off of older info call Newington Guns those guys know all the CT Assault laws)
Good luck

No flash hiders or adjustable stocks in CT unfortunately. "Apparently" those features are what make a firearm dangerous.lol
