i'm wondering how much the ATF is slow walking FFL applications. I applied 2/2 , they cashed my check 2/16. I have not received and email or any other kind of confirmation of my application. Says on the website i should hear from them in 30 days and another 30 for license. Called them 4/6 and only words uttered on the other end of the line "it's being processed". Basically "click" end of conversastion.

The reason I ask is that I got "Disapproved" when I had a righteous application to be a FFL ... because I had no "store front" and was applying as an individual. I had an extensive discussion with the ATF and learned that individual applications were simply not being approved anymore, as they focused on commercial store operations. That was the answer ... at least for me.

Interesting, I contacted them and they said individual was still being approved as long as all the requirements were met.

Maybe some local offices give good recommendations and some don't?

That was the answer for me ... maybe I'll try again. That was about 18 months ago.

They could have been telling me bullshit too. Only reason I chose not to do individual is a fair amount of distributors require a storefront.

Now I'm looking at land/property but also waiting on what kind of EO's/laws will fuck the industry. Probably a bad time to start a FFL business. I'm still trying to muster up the balls to do it.

applying for FFL, i have a store front, good relationship with the local sheriff, state patrol, and LEO. my store was a gun shop before i moved in. Will b interesting to see if my phone call helped.
