ATLAS BIPOD SLING STUD ADAPTER?

Re: ATLAS BIPOD SLING STUD ADAPTER?

^^ What fastford said!! ^^

The Atlas bipods are rail-mount ONLY...but the Accushot rails (they offer 2 different models: the BT17 and BT15) work great and they aren't that difficult to install if you have a mind to DIY the project. The thread fastford linked you to is all you'll need.

Re: ATLAS BIPOD SLING STUD ADAPTER?

like the others said the Atlas are rail mount only but if you're not wanting to DIY, you can get one of these adapters like I did for my Atlas from Weaver:

it will protrude out about 1/2". some might find it funny looking but I've installed it on my Browning A-Bolt since it's a got a plastic stock and installing one of the Accu-Shot rails will be tricky for my stock. There's a little pin that goes through the sling stud and you tighten 2 hex screws. It installs on there nice and snug. I've shot over 100rds from my 30-06 and it never moved or came loose on me. Not saying this is the best idea but it works for me.

Re: ATLAS BIPOD SLING STUD ADAPTER?

I just sent two McMillan A5's into GAP and had them converted over to Atlas rails. The team at GAP did an excellent job.

The conversion involved removing the bipod stud but using the rest of the hardware. They then added a second mounting point. The rail is actually a Badger rail that they use which just finishes it up well.

Here is a quick pic of the completed job.
