Getting my Desert Tech SRS A2 setup and got the Atlas Super CAL in. It seems really large for this rifle. Did I go too big or are there advantages I'm not thinking of? School me. Should I have gone with the CAL instead? I do shoot 300WM in this system sometimes. Thanks.

I have an OG Atlas v8, a Super Cal and a Gen2 CKYE Pod and I've actually ran all 3 on my rimfire rifle, depending on the stage or situation.
I think for purely PRONE, the SuperCal is a great option and it's my primary choice when I want to go past a mile with my 7mm.

I don't think you'll have a problem.

O.k. thanks guys, was starting to think about weight and size. Not sure what the advantage is of the super CAL over the CAL but maybe just extra stability for those ELR shots? Appreciate the feedback, having less buyer's remorse since reading your responses...

I love my Super Cal, I also use it on my RimX and everytime I do load data and my most recoiling rifle is a 16in 308. I also like that its 1lbs heavier than the V8 since it helps balancing my Desert Tech on a barricade.

right when they came down in price i started shooting "shorter" wife and kids didnt allow me to travel as much for pleasure lol

figured it would be a useful tool for your exact reason.

perked my interest again while reading some African Safari hunts and how red dots are becoming more common on DG rifles etc

thanks

I used them a lot on pistols burris Fast Fire. There is another company called vism who makes a fold down windshield that is the same size as the Burris fastfire works very well to install on a pick rail under your DG scope in case you have scope failure just remove the scope hit the button and pop the windshield up and you're ready to go
