Has anybody compared the Thor 336 to the Thor 320?

I've viewed through a 640 3x, 320 2x, and 320 1x in the field. The 320 2x has enough detection range for me and I like the wide field-of-view. But the factory specs make the 336 1.5x seem better for the money.

Also, the price difference between the Thor 30Hz and 60Hz isn't as big as it was. Do you see any real advantage to the 60Hz on running hogs? Is the battery life of the 60Hz Thor much lower than the 30Hz?

When I was buying my T-3202X 60hz scope I looked at another product that came with the FLIR 320x240 or 336x256 imager. The 336x256 imager was cheaper yet higher performance that didn't make any sense to me. I ask why the cost difference the dealer said the 336 was FLIR's newest model and was higher production so that lowered cost.

Well Im still on the first set of batteries maybe 5-7 hours of use so far. The battery meter still shows half but I expect the meter to drop fast like most meters when the Lithium batteries get close to dead. On the 60hz it was only $300 more on my price quotes when buying vs 30hz so I bought it. $300 when you are spending over 5K I though why not. Also I love the scope it's well built, performance is high end, and it's small and compact which I really like.

Glad to see this thread come up. I'm trying to decide between the Thor 320 or 336 also. comparing the two it appears the 336 is twice as heavy and much larger. Is that correct?

is the 336 a better buy?

My name is Sachal and I work for ATN. The 336 is a better buy because it is cheaper than the 320. As for performance they are equally at par.

PS: I will be more active on this forum. I see a lot of "members" claiming to be unbiased product users when I know they work for our competitor. So I will be answering to them directly.

Thank you
