Well, I brought out my original Porter Cable (pre-black&decker, circa 1999) rotary polisher yesterday to touch up some areas on one of my vehicles and I guess I hit the foam pad backer against a handle and it flew off. So, 3M backing plates are $$$$$. I've used 3M Finesse-It products for many years and am pretty happy with the results. So I had a Hook-It backing plate (2nd or 3rd one...they seem to have issues with the foam after 5 years and in heat of garage. I'm ordering a new backing plate from Lake Country.
However, I started thinking...maybe it's time to get a DA polisher. I've been looking at Rupes and Flex. Just curious if anybody has experience with these two brands. I'd likely still use the 3M products for polishing and defects.
Thanks in advance.
