Anyone on the hide running this stock? I'm looking for a replacement stock for the tubberware that came with my 700 varmint ADL. I've read a good deal from happy owners on the internet, but I've also seen some complaints on quality, and I know that Bell and Carlson isn't exactly top of the line, but I am on a budget and the idea of a good vertical grip stock with full adjustment in the 4 to 5 hundred dollar range excites me. I also see it has a an bedding block, which (correct me if im wrong) should save me from fooling with bedding. Im also going to need some bottom metal, so are there any compatibility issues with aftermarket market magazine bottom metal systems? Just curious about any experience you all have had. I've been browsing the AICS 1.5s and manners t4a's with bdl mini chassis but it seems like this might be more bang for my buck. Thanks for any help y'all can give! There's never a day I dont learn something from this forum!

great stocks. although, if you are going to put a mag kit on it your not far away from a lot of other chassis. the non adjustable is a steal at $250 or whatever stocky is doing nowadays. Ive had a few of them and was happy with all of them.
I use the A3 style B&C Medalist, the pistol grip is great and the wide forend is great too. Mine isn't adjustable but very comfortable to shoot and the recoil pad is pachmeyer I think.
I've been wondering about that. Seems like it'd be hard to go wrong with an aics or a manners mini chassis. I'm just trying to evaluate my options here. I like the whole buy once cry once philosophy, but if there's something out there that's going to work for me that costs less, what sense is there in breaking the budget?
I have a B&C A5 Medalist stock for a long actioned .308.....fantastic stock and the Wyatt BDM fit into this stock with no modification. I used a spacer that came with the BDM to ensure spacing between the action and the BDM. Full Disclosure: My stock has been bedded so I'm not sure how a non-bedded stock is for accuracy but this stock with bedding allows my rifle to perform at 1/2 MOA accuracy. This gun is more accurate than I am. I believe you will be very happy with this stock and the adjustments are very good and solid. Good Luck. V/R Jerry "Outlaw5" Perkins
I currently run the same stock for a Savage 11 heavy barrel. I recently sent it to CDI in Florida for inletting and bottom metal. I wasn't sure I wanted a mag and the options for Savages are limited as compared to the Remington 700s. I do love that stock and there is a good thread by Ranger713 in the DIY section of this site on mods that me made. I'm really happy with the setup but these guys are right, there are some lightweight chassis systems that are comparable in price. I really love that stock but in hindsight with what I've put in to the stock ($280 for the stock and $275 for the bottom metal and inletting not including shipping) I may have gone with one of the chassis systems. Bedding isn't exactly necessary but after some conversations on Savage Shooters, I may do a light bedding on the blocks in the stock just to smooth it out and get a nice mating surface.
I'm also really considering this for the low cost of a fully adjustable stock being that im not close to a normal sized human, the only advantage is I have access to a mill for bottom metal inletting. next option im looking at is a Manners T4A thats $150+ more without adjustable length of pull... but then again it is a Manners...
Had the B&C on my 700 and really liked it. Went to an AICS 2.0 only because I wanted to store my rifle in my case without having to remove the suppressor every time.
