I've got 3 original issue USMC Unertl scopes. All 3 were originally the 308 scopes now modified to 50 cal. I plan on using 2 of them for a 308 so I wanted to see the difference between the 308 and 50 cal MOA values and I thought I'd share my results real quick. 2 of them don't have the USO mod and 1 does. I did at leaset 5 tracking test for each scope at both 25 yards and 50 yards. I screwed the scope down to a fence post screwing in the scope mount then mounting each scope to it, and used a yard stick at 25 and 50. I know this isn't the most accurate testing procedure but its the best I can do during the lock down.
The 308 MOA values as I understand them are as follows:
200-2
300-5
400-8
500-12
600-16
700-20.5
800-25
900-31
1000-37.5
If that is wrong please let me know?
I'm not going to post all the different tests. What I came up with was basically the same value for each scope. I was only able to go out to 12 on the scopes not to 18. I don't have a setup for testing that. I might go back later and test.
Results in MOA:
200-2
300-4
400-5.5
500-8
600-11.5
700-15
800-18.5
900-21.5
1000-27
1100-32
1200-37
At lease this is a starting point, once I can get out to the range I'll test them out to 1000. Looks like the values will be fairly close.
