Has anyone had a SnipersHide supporting gunsmith open up the inside dia. of one of these a few thou?

OR

Has any supporting smith done this before with little run-out along the inside diameter?

I have a few Lawton LER contour (same as MTU profile) barrels Ide like to be able to use a EFR on with my rifle.

Also, Im a little confused as to where to mount this as to run an AN/PVS-27. The EFR instal instructions dont give a concrete distance from the end of the objective of the optic, so should I just trial fit before inletting?

Re: Badger EFR

AJ Brown turned a shoulder on my M40 contour barrel just behind the EFR and turned the contour down a bit forward of the shoulder so the barrel would fit with enough clearance through the EFR.

Re: Badger EFR

That was my original plan, until I started collecting quite a few barrels for my rifle. I could have sworn I saw one suppoting smith on here do a build where he opened one up for a heavier contour barrel but I cant find it for the life of me.

Re: Badger EFR

I have opened up the Badger EFR before to accommodate a larger barrel. Any more I just turn down the barrel.

Re: Badger EFR

I've heard opening up the mount could potentially hurt the "integrity" of the mount, even though that sounds a little crazy to me. The way that Mark has done it in the photos looks to be the way to go for me.
