I installed a Badger FTE Muzzle break last month on my 700P .308W

I noticed that I am getting a POI that is 1.5 inches high at 100y on my first shot of the day (cold bore). The very second shot is dead zero. I get this even with dry firing for a few minutes before firing the first shot. I have repeated this result 5 or 6 times now. Temperatures were around 30F.

I definately didn't experience this so called "Cold Bore Shot" before I installed the break. And I did rezero the rifle after installing it.

Has anyone else experienced this POI change with Cold Bore Shots with the FTE Break ?

Well, your barrel acts like a tuning fork when fired, vibration and whip are both fairly violent. Adding weight will change how a barrel reacts, and shoots. I have heard a lot of folks experience significant changes in accuracy, either an improvement or degredation of accuracy.

Have you tried removing the break to see if your issue goes away ? It sounds like you didnt have this issue before the FTE, but maybe other changes have been made as well ?
