Badger Ordnance 338 Lapua Ackley Improved

Just took delivery of a new toy, built by Jeff of Rivers Bend Gun Co.

Badger Ordnance receiver, Kreiger heavy varmint barrel with a Terminator T4 brake finished at about 31", KRG Whisky 3, Jewel HVR trigger and Athlon glass.

Put eleven rounds thru it yesterday, just fire forming brass and getting a zero. All indications are that she will be a shoote. The T4 brake is absolutely amazing! Recoil with 300 grain Bergers driven by 95grns of RL33 is less than 308 recoil.

The yellow was my attempt at subtly. ?

I have a Manners Elite T-A w CIP mini chassis on order. I didn't want a long barrel on this build so i went w a 24 inch....... plus brake is 27 inches. My plan is to switch out to the Manners if i ever hunt out west.

That's an awesome build. I've always like the Badger actions in a W-3. Our first year at SHOT in 2011 we had a Badger M2008 SA in a W-3. They graciously allowed us to display in their booth.

The action itself is a very nice action, it's under-rated on the hide but it's a nice design, looks good, and is one of the few available in .338 LM.

Well, I've done a bit of shooting to fireform some brass and get an idea of how this rifle is going to behave. Here are two groups shot at 200 yards this past Sunday.

Obviously, there is a problem with the rifle. There is NO WAY I'm responsible for that flyer!! ?
