Does somebody use Advanced Wind Kit of it? I tried use it but imho is giving me wrong solution. There is a possibility of make few different wind zone ex 100-300y, 300-600, etc..
I test it on 5mph and 7mph wind. I set one wind zone and write down for few distance. Then I divided into two parts/zones - 100-500 and 500-1000 with same wind speed and got wrong solution, different than one wind zone 100-1000 with same wind condition. Any idea?

I tried to see solution for wind when it's different closer to a target..

I just input the data that you mentioned, and my output is correct. It didn't matter if I divided it into two zones. What will effect the output is if you don't toggle the "constant" button on. If you have it on or off when you do one zone make sure you have it on or off both of the zones when you divide them.

What version of app do you have? I have 6.5.3 (6136). I tried once and it doesn't work..

1. I set 10m/s wind 90 deg constant and I received 4,6 MIL wind on 900m
2. I set two wind zone 0-576m and 576-1000m 10m/s wind 90 deg constant and I received 6,63 MIL wind on 900m
same wind two different value..

I have same problems with Kestrel - Pressure value is reading wrong its 1009hPa and it read 10099999999,9hPa giving wrong solutions.

I told them about this problem (pressure) over 1,5 year ago and app doesn't work correct until today.

I am running the same version as you (6136)

You say you are having the same pressure problem with your Kestrel, that would lead me to believe you have an input set incorrectly or we would see other users having the same problem. I didn't experience any weird numbers when I went to hPa, but If you go from metric to imperial or imperial to metric it can create numbers similar what you posted when the app rounds while doing the conversion. Did you build a rifle profile in imperial and then change your settings to metric?

I changed all my settings to metric (they are normally set to imperial) and set my wind speed units to m/s and opened one of my loaded rifle profiles, when I went to the wind kit it showed that it was set for m/s, I entered 10 which would be about 22mph and realized my output was 10 mph and not what 22 mph would be. It appears that if you build and save a profile under one set of wind inputs lets say mph and then change it under settings it seems the build profile will default back to the original setting even though it shows m/s .

I would double check all your settings again, make sure they are exactly how you want them, then I would build a new rifle profile and see if that helps.

Trying to solve ballistic calc problems can be a pain in the ass, I hope something in this post helps.

I have reinstall app, delete all profiles etc. And imho I found a bug. The problem is with a range over 900m (1000y). When I use maximum range to 900m it works over not. If u can test it, lets do it. Pressure in hPa is input wrong on current atmosphere section.

Is this the error message you're getting? There does appear to be something weird going on with hPa and distances past 1000. Every time I open a profile from favorites and enter current weather conditions and click on solution, I will get that error message and my hPa number will have a decimal point and a bunch of numbers after it, the same occurs for the Celsius temperature field. These errors might only be on my end because my profiles were formatted with imperial data.

It does appear to be a bug. Here is how to get around it. Click on the rifle profile you want to use, then click on the icon in the upper right corner(box with arrow), when the menu comes up click load, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on calculate trajectory, your drop chart will load and then you can go into your weather and input the current conditions without the error message popping up.

To summarize, just make sure you "load" the profile and the problem should be eliminated.

@Tmm01 I had my profiles made in metric. Yours solution doesn’t solve problem I should get atmosphere direct from my Kestrel.

Next problem is with advanced wind kit it doesn’t work with specific distance (metric). This problem doesn’t exist with imperial values.

You keep introducing new information to your ongoing problems. No where in your first post did you mention pairing your Kestrel to the app to gather atmospheric data. Did you shut the Kestrel off and enter the atmospheric data manually to the app? Eliminate one piece of equipment to alienate the problem.

You didn't mention if the error message I posted is the same one you are getting.

I took the time to build two new profiles after changing all my data to metric, I set my max distance to 1300 meters and I couldn't generate any error messages. This leads me to believe that there isn't any bug that I can find if the profiles are built and used under one standard. Weird things may happen if the app has to do a conversion, based on my earlier post.

If there was a problem with the app we would see members sharing their experience. I hope you find a solution to the problems you're having with the app.

@Tmm01 I wrote about Kestrel in 3rd post. This problem is during use "atmosphere" from Kestrel - pressure is reading wrong.

I found these bugs - iOS:
- wind kit doesn't work if I set max range to 1000
- pressure is reading wrong from Kestrel device
- in darkmode value for pressure (zero atmo), pressure and altitude (current atmo), wind - velocity and upwind are invisible

link to movies with two problems

I guess, I should of been more clear, I didn't realize you were pairing your Kestrel to the app. I thought you had a standalone unit like a 5700 that was generating the same pressure problem as the app.

Since you mentioned, Dark Mode it very well could be an iOS issue. I haven't updated my phone in awhile, the problems you are seeing may very well be related to a newer iOS version. I would contact the developer, if you haven't already and see if they can remedy the problems.

Just a heads up, the Hornady 4Dof accounts for aj.

Yup - I just hate the 4dof app interface versus ballistic ae. jump is the only thing i'm really wanting for...

btw - i've never used anything besides the single speed wind and heading. i just mentally adjust the full value for what i see downrange based on experience
