There's a lot of mess to clean up and it won't happen over night.
The good thing is that we have some levers we can pull for very fast results on the economy. Energy and the regulation involved with getting it, being a very big one. Also, taxes have to be dealt with or the tax cuts will expire so there's great opportunity there. Tarrifs, (only with someone behind the wheel that will make good on big threats) can be used in a very effective way, which is how Trump will bully companies into moving business into America. Unleash energy jobs, lower taxes, reduce regulation, encourage American business.... but just knowing who's driving the bus will have a pretty big impact on the nation because they won't be afraid of what's coming, which will help a lot in and of itself.
Agree. The 20% prime rates are what decimated the economy then. Now, the regulations are insane; though energy costs were quite high in the late 70s and early 80s (adjusted). And, as you said we have levers that we may not (I don't know) have had back then. One also needs to remember Reagan had to fight Tip O'Neal for all the tax cuts he did get (I remember how much bigger my slightly larger than minimum wage paycheck was - seriously!!) Difference is that it was somewhat civil.

The USSC knew it, the gov knew it, most of the country with a brain knows it and not shit was done about it, by anyone. Let that sink in. Sure we can enjoy some Trump time, but he isn’t a fix to the problem. I’d bet nobody gets prosecuted for anything as they should be. If I was Trump I’d be bringing the hammer down. You can call it going after your political rivals but the fact is, it’s just Justice for laws that were broken. We must have some semblance of order and the only way to do that is to enforce laws when it’s clear that many many people broke them on a variety of things in 2016 and 2020.

He was beaten by only one man. A man who was rarely seen in public during his entire campaign. His rallies and town hall meetings drew hundreds, to Trumps tens of thousands. His entire campaign was plagued with abysmal enthusiasm. His gaffes were legendary. No one liked him. He was hated by a third of his party.
He supposedly garnered 81 milliin votes. No one with a brain believes he got those votes from anything beyond massive numbers of fake ballots, AND a great deal of help from a secret operative named Algorythim.
Call it my paranoia, my gut feeling, whatever you want. It’s been wrong, but it has saved my ass a lot more times than it was wrong.
