Gunsmithing Barrel cleaning, bore brush and chamber brush.

How often are you using the bore brush if your patches come out dark on the first swipe and successively lighter on the following swipes with patches.

In five passes with the patches, I'm really not getting any dirt.

Are you using your brush at all or just using the patches?


How often do you use the chamber brush? Mine doesn't seem to get dirty at all.


If it matters, I'm starting with Shooters Choice or Butch's Bore shine, then finishing with EEZOX or Break Free and then dry patches.

However on a 308 after break-in I clean every thirty rounds for the first 150/200 rounds. Every 100 rounds for the first 500. Then I clean every 500 rounds.
