I'm starting to get components ordered for a 375 cheytac improved rifle. I've ordered a Bat L 2" round action so the next piece of the puzzle to figure out is the bullet and barrel. I've been told that would need as much as a 1 in 7 twist to handle the 400gr Cutting Edge solids through the transonic. For those of you that have experience with the Cheytac cases what are you running for bullets, barrel contour and length, barrel twist. Will probably be going with the McMillan ELR Beast stock but open to suggestions for that as well.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

For mostly long range steel in the AZ desert with the possibility of KO2M down the road. Don't know just how far I'll eventually try to push it but will be through transonic and into subsonic though. Plenty of room to go far in AZ.

We had very good results with a 375 Snipetac - 32" MTU 9 twist pushing Warner Flat Lines 361 grain bullets. They ran at 3028 fps with a load set up for shooting in 90 - 100 degree weather without pressure issues with RL33 powder and Federal primers. I believe the Warner 361 gr was the only bullet to mess up the paint on the 16" Coldbore and all of the qualifier targets on the first two days of qualifying at the KO2M.

If you were to run the 400s or heavier then yes a 7 or 8 twist may be of preference, we have spun the 361s with a 8 twist as well.

The picture came across blurred and I can't remove it, the original was good.

Cheers

I also have started the ELR quest. I am thinking 1-8 twist 33 in barrel for shooting 377 CE bullets. I am going to SHOT SHOW in Jan so I will make all my final plans after talking to all the ELR players. Just as a side note Ashbury Precision told me Cory Trapp is shooting one of their .375CT 30in 1-8 Twist using .377CE with great results. Were in AZ do you live?? I live Not far from Kingman.

Came across a Bartlein barrel with a short lead time. 1.600 at the chamber end for 10 in then tapers to 1.250 at the muzzle. 5r rifling 1 in 7 twist 38" finished length.

That would be a great barrel for a barrel block chassis. This 8-twist Rock Creek barrel with a 375 SnipeTac is pushing 400gn CEBs at 2950 FPS.

I would be interested in that Bartlein. Please PM details; if you decide not to pick It up.

Thanks,

I've got a Bat L 2" action on order so won't need to use a barrel block for it. Barrel showed up the other day, ETA on the action is Feb/Mar. 17.25 lbs for the barrel.
Will probably try out some new Lehigh solids first then the Cutting edge.

I'm in Gilbert AZ. Would be a bit of a drive but would be nice to shoot together sometime.
