barrel length

is there an optimal length of barrel for the 6 BR variants i see some at 26 an some at 30 inches.

Shoot whatever is comfortable for you. I have been personally running a 22 in 6 GT for last several seasons.

I've got 22" and 26" in the BR. I see people with 28" and 30" also.

I don't feel any disadvantage out to 1200 with the 22".

28" seems to be sweet spot for the BR. If you don't need to maneuver it around or hike with it, why go shorter? It's free velocity/lower pressure/barrel life.

Exactly. No reason to go short even for a PRS rifle. I wouldn't go under 26" personally.

Agreed. Guys like @NiteQwill do run a can in prs so when he says he runs a 22inch, that's the caveat.

All of mine ( 6BR/ 6.5C/ 223) are currently 25" because I couldn't decide on 24 or 26. I'm probably going to cut them all back to 22" and run cans on all of them as soon as they come in from KGM.

I've gone to 28" for everything just to balance better
