Barrel Recommendations for 300 PRC Savage?

Thinking about replacing the barrel on a 300PRC Savage. My criteria are <$550, 26", 1:8.5 or faster, threaded.
Considering Shilen and Preferred Barrel Blanks. Opinions? Other recommendations?

Would have been my recommendation but I don’t see 300 prc in their chamber list

Yeah, that was the first place I looked. Wish they'd add that chamber.

I’ve used the Criterion’s on my Savages and really like them. They do offer a Shilen Savage pre-fit in 300 PRC. I bought one for my Howa 1500 and it shoots great.

What rifling and rate of twist did you get with the Shilen and what weight of bullets do you shoot?

I had PBB spin up a 280AI for a 110 action and I'm extremely happy with it.

It’s a 28”, 1 to 8, 5R, Match Select SS. I think it’s a Heavy Palma contour.

I mainly shoot 230 A-Tips. Lapua Brass, GM215M, 76.7 RL-26, something like 3.675” OAL. Velocity is 2960.

I’ve played with the 250 A-Tips but can’t get them fast enough to give any better dope. They would be better if I shoot past 2,500 yds.

I've used the local gunsmith that NSS works with, you might see if NSS has blanks and if the gunsmith would cut the chamber.
