Barrel tuners….Vudoo/Bergara?

First, so’s I can compare apples to apples, which barrel profile from Vudoo closely approximates the #6 taper of Bergara’s B-14R? Reason for asking is selecting a tuner that will make a noticeable-tractable difference.

i wouldnt go light on the barrel just so the tuner is more obvious. i'd prefer weight for a comp gun

26” MTU with an EC tuner. Even though it’s a thick barrel it still is tunable. The other day.. One hole at setting 20. I got equal results with my B14R as well in the past.

I run a 22” MTU with an ATS tuner on my Vudoo. At my last NRL22 match I shot this at the 100yd zero check. 5 shot group with Lapua Center X. Note for some reason the photo rotated right when posted.

All the Vudoo owners I personally know use 24” MTUs all with EC Tuners. And come to think about it I haven’t seen any 18” Vudoos lately at the matches I been to this year.

I run an ATS on my Vudoo (18” Kukri contour) and saw a decent amount of improvement in group size in my early experiments with the tuner using the method ATS recommends. Thread on that is here: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/vudoo-kss-tuner.7106489/

I’m going to try another round of testing/tuning using the Hopewell Method to see if it gets me any better results. All-in-all, I’d say the tuner has improved things enough to warrant keeping it on.

ATS or EC Tuner from Kukri Profile to MTU will tune just fine. I currently have an EC Tuner on my new barrel. The old barrel had an ATS. I think the ECTuner is easier to use and tune with as it is tool less. Both of my barrels are 22" & MTU profile.

You see very few barrels in the PRS or NRL22 game below 20" and smaller than Kukri profile.

Not in my opinion. The ATS has an Allen screw that has to be loosened and tightened each time you move it. The EC Tuner has a pad on the bottom of the Allen screw. Once you set the tension on the screw it is hand turn for each adjustment from there. No tools needed any longer. It is just so easy to work with.

Not in my neck of the woods -- 18" is pretty common, but then again everyone's got their own take on barrel length.
