Barrett MRAD 2nd barrel ?

Hi guys.
I finally managed to get my hands on a MRAD in 338lm.
But i want to get one more barrell to swap between, its avaliable as 308. 300wm. 260rem and 6.5CM.
Please share your thoughts what ekstra caliber is should get and why. Thank you

I have barrels for my MRAD in 338-LM and 300-PRC ... my next barrel will be a 300-Norma. Just sold my 6.5-CM barrel kit to a Hide-buddy since I just wasn't using it and it needed a good home. (I have two other 6.5-CM options so don't cry for me.)

If you reload(and you should) and longer rounds will fit in the magazine, 260 Rem.

If you just want to shoot factory ammo, toss a coin between 308 & 6.5CM

I would suggest 308 due to ammo cost and availability.

308 for me, it's cheap to shoot and will help you hone your skills. 6.5 is becoming cheaper to shoot too and has it's own strengths

If cost is the determining factor go with the .308. Other than that, 6.5 creed is better in pretty much every way.

As mentioned, 260 is probably not worth it unless you reload.

This is literally one of the big reasons I bought an AI over the MRAD.

I thought I heard a bunch of the barrel kits were going to be restocked by Barrett this winter? Don't quote me on that.

I actually called Barrett last week about a barrel for my MRad and was told it would be January or later as they are ramped up filling quotas for the Mark22’s

I would recommend the .308. Cheap ammo, easy on the barrel, and use it to shoot at the range and test targets and optics. Save the higher caliber barrels for the real action.

Thank you all for the imput, i decided to get a 308 conversion kit with 2 mags for 1500 bucks.

I sold my MRAD and got an AI because of this.. and an AI barrel is cheaper than an MRAD kit if you alredy have the bolt and mag. And you can get it almost anywhere
