Barrett MRAD- Helpful Advice from actual owners/users?

I'm head down the road, Barrett MRAD is at my FFL. Any advice for me? I've read some reviews that where on this old site and everyone was pissed how the caliber conversions weren't available. They are now, so we can skip that sore moot point! Looking at other barrels 6.5creed, 260, 308, 338 lapua? Not sure about barrel profiles, fluted, heavy or carbon. Not sure about carbon because of price, but may buy one that won't burn out in 1500-2000. Leaning towards 308 or 338 for that. I shoot all the calibers but the 260 and I just sold my Ruger RPR in 6.5. Thinking about taking the 260 plunge? Any helpful/constructive advice would be appreciated? I'll even take unsolicited positive advice?

We've got a 6.5 Creedmoor at work that shoots lights out. Another has a .308 barrel and it is a hammer with even 150gr FMJ out to a few hundred yards.. like sub MOA plates with boring consistency.

Haven't personally owned one, but I've shot a 338 lapua many times and each time, it never failed to put a shit eating grin on my face. Had an awesome time busting steel and chunks of clay pigeons at 700+ yds with pretty stiff cross winds.

I had one - When it was only 338.

The MRAD itself is a tank but, I found Barrett to be quite...Difficult.

I bought an AI AXMC when they came out, got all of the calibers - It was a bit of a wait but, everything worked out in the end - I couldn't be happier.

I actually had the Barrett on launch - We were promised conversions within @6 months...Took more than a few years.

In spite of being told constantly it was right around the corner, it never was.

So, the company more/less. Took AI about 1/2 the time to get conversions out comparatively.

I figured the delay had something to do with a government contracts? Or a problem with them being produced by another barrel maker?????? I didn't have the funds to buy on when they came out. I just picked up a gen 1 from EuroOptic for $3,999 for a 20" Win mag. Which the barrel Conversion is on Ebay right now, i don't shoot 300WM. I'm going to pick up a couple of conversions, 308,6.5,338 Lapua, Maybe a 300 norma??

I believe you also need to pick up the breech conversion kit. My understanding is that 1st gen MRADs need them to run the new conversion kits.
