BC and Wind

I’m trying to get my real world data to match my calculator. I read on another thread to true your velocity at 500 and your bc at 800. I have the range to do that, but I’m having a hard time finding a day with no wind. So my question is how much wind is to much to true my bc?

Truing velocity at 500 would not be a problem with any wind you could comfortably stand to shoot in.

Truing BC at 800 or 1000, the vertical effect of wind will need to be considered once you are dealing with 2 mils or so of drift. The vertical effect being round about 10% of lateral drift according to Bryan Litz. It has proven to be a workable average in my guns as well.

I know that AB and Strelok have the ability to figure it in.

Just my opinion, take it for what it is worth.

Ok I shot this evening in wind that StrelokPro called for .24mils right. But they wind angle was a helping wind at my back and right to left. I hit low at 1005yds made adjustments up and hit center plate. In your opinion based on what you said it would be ok to true my bc from this real world data.
Also that was hit plate 3 times so pretty sure my adjustments was correct and just not lucky shots.

Yeah, you are fine to true there. .24 mils is nothing to consider on the vertical.

I use the hornady 4dof app and as long as you zero and put in wind values the trued dope is good for any wind really. Should be similar with any other calculator.
