One of my friends brought by his CZ455 Precision Trainer. I loved it. Except for the contact points in the stock. I don't think it was possible to shoot the gun to its potential.
The front of the action hit the 1/2 pillar that was about 1/16 thick at the top. The was the only contact. Action also had no recoil lug of any short. I know its a 22LR but anything
that keeps it from moving around would help.

I took the action down, removing all trigger and mag components. First time I touched a CZ. Should have read about the damn ball in the sear. I used clay and packing tape to
close off all holes in action. Also, the 2 set screws that hold the barrel in need to be filled and rounded over with clay. They perfect to make a mechanical lock to permanently glue
that action in the stock :)

Used 6mm x 1mm Forster bedding screws

Will finishe up later

Prepped the stock. Going to do full perimeter bedding on the action. Going to have bedding as positive stops for the action. Left anough room for bedding to go in the side receiver cuts for the sear and trigger pins. I'll mill it out to provide clearance and they will act as 4 small recoil lugs.

Used double tape doughnuts to center action and barrel. Kiwi as release agent.

and they will act as 4 small recoil lugs.

Which will be about as useful as teats on a bull....it's a rim fire, not a 30.06.
The pillars alone take care of the recoil, bedding simply ensures a perfect alignment every time.
Not being a wize adze, just pointing out a basic fact, a 455 is not a centerfire. Y'er getting into overkill.
However, as an excercise in meticulous attention to detail, It's been fun to watch.

Actually if you look at the rear tang on the 455 it is big and beefy squared off and serves as a good recoil lug. You will have to be very careful on disassembly and reassembly with the pin holes bedded. More than likely they will break off pretty soon. But none the less let us know how it turns out.

Nice bedding job on that 455. I've pillar bedded and glass bedded about 5 455's now and clay is a must! So many spots the bedding can cause a lock to the stock. Here is my 455 American (now a varmerican lol) awaiting its new glass. I shimmed the trigger and swapped the spring on it, breaks with no creep currently at 9oz. Has a J&P firing pin spring, lilja straight .900 barrel with eps match chamber, single shot adapter, pillar bedded and glass bedded, dip aluminum mag well, and I refinished the stock.
