Gunsmithing Bell & Carlson Light Tact vs. Medalist

Re: Bell & Carlson Light Tact vs. Medalist

I've got the light tac, which is also a medalist, I like it, essentially a traditional stock profile with a butt hook and slightly steeper grip, and wider forearm. I debated the A2 or A5 and decided against either due to the square forearm, I often shoot unsupported and it is not condusive to that.

Re: Bell & Carlson Light Tact vs. Medalist

i have a light tactical medalist on a remington 700 and an A2 style medalist on a savage.

I would buy another light tactical.

The A2 weighs more and i hate the 2x4 fat n flat style foreend. Ended up sanding down and resmoothing the foreend but i would still rather have the light tactical or an HS.

If started from scratch the M40 B&C or a HS would be my purchase.
here's a link to the M40 B&C.

Can't help you, but I really wish B&C would make the M40 & A3 Medalist for Savages...and the A2/A3/M40 (pick one!) for Savage long action.
