Hello Gents,

First newb post here. I have a question about my Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist stock. I noticed that when I adjusted the pull and comb of the stock, the silver rods would show. I love how adjustable this stock is, but I'm not digging these rods. If the hardware becomes loose, these rods may collapse at the most inopportune moment.

Has anyone experienced issues with these adjustable stocks? I noticed that the Accuracy International stock systems have a shim system that fits between the cheek adjustment plate and the stock.

I use to have that stock and had no problems. But if it makes you fell more secure, I guess you can always cut some shims to fit .

Re: Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist question

You can just order some black nylon washers of appropriate size to fit over the rods. Adjust as desired, measure the gap between bottom of cheekpiece and top of stock. Select appropriate number of washers, remove cheekpiece, put washers over rods, reinstall.

Obviously this creates a stock that is not readily adjustable, but it won't move, and the black washers cover the shiny rods.

This is one option. Another is to set it up and drill a series of countersinks in the rod (~0.19" spacing) that the lock screws will go into. Can't micro-adjust afterwards, but the positional lock is positive.
