I am looking for a belt grinder for spinning barrels. I am open to suggestions, but would prefer not to buy one made of diamonds or gold. Just a decent grinder that works well and doesn't cost more than my house.

Re: Belt Grinder

Brownells use to sell a 1 in. Jet belt sander with a 8 inch disc sander.

I don't know if they still do, it's perfect in my opinion. I've been using mine since the early '80s. I just switch belts. I use belts from 120 to 4000 grit, you can spin a mirror finish on a barrel blank.

I use the disc for shaping recoil pads.

Re: Belt Grinder

I found a great conversion kit for a standard bench grinder, probably one of the most used tools I've got. I'll find the link for you tomorrow.
