Beretta 92FS VS Sig Sauer P320 M-17

Accuracy international all day

You are getting ready to load up in a C-130 heading for the real shiit. You have a choice of either pistol and all the loaded mags you can carry. Which one would you choose?

If that was actually the real case for you, the choice of what pistol you were carrying would have already been made for you by somebody else.

Either. I like them both. I had a Taurus PT-99 that was a copy of the Berretta (made on old berretta machines left in Brazil) but it had a frame mounted safety like a 1911 instead of way up on the slide. Everyone thought I was stupid or poor, till I out shot them with it. Now I see Berretta makes a +$1k “premium” 92 with a………frame mounted safety. Fucking lol. Who is laughing now? Anyway, a proper set up 92 is bad ass.

Sig m17. Higher capacity mags 17 & 21 rounds, optics ready, closed slide design keeps out more dirt, better ergonomics, I prefer striker fired same trigger pull every time versus hammer fired.

If not the Sig m17, then the HK vp9, CZ p10, or Glock gen5 g17.

Yet another old account that “just recently remembered he had an account.”
Or “just recently remembered the password.”

And then proceed with off the wall posts in the Pit…

Shocked I say…

These Glowies sure have a knack!

Oh and CZ 75. From before they went all ghey.

Sirhr

No contest. Sig. My ex FIL had the 92FS and it was a rare event for it to get through one mag without a malfunction. It was a real POS but he was super proud of it and had all sorts of excuses why it never functioned correctly. I've shot it a bunch and never liked it for that reason and more. MY Sig M17 on the other hand has been flawless since I've owned it.

Not sure he is a glowie

He is a used care salesman

He PM’d me once because he crapped all over a FS ad for some Unknown Munitions ammo and I called him out.

I went through pistol school and shot near 1k rds in 3 days. My Taurus 92 copy never jammed once. Like ever. I even tried limp wrist, and even upsid down with my pinky pulling the trigger. Never malfunctioned. I sold it for some stupid reason. Wish I had it back.

Sounds like Taurus made a better 92 than Beretta...

Were you practicing for your initiation into the Bloods of Chicago street gang? :)

Doesn’t explain the extended absence and recent wave of activity, which is on cue with the pattern we’ve seen.

They are big. I have large hands. It’s a full sized metal gun for sure. But it shoots so smooth. Like a machine.
I bought a 92 FS ?? Inox, Christmas of 94, with 3- 15 rd mags, thinking life is good, in before the ban. That clunky pile of shit was the most inaccurate pistol I've ever owned. Though dropping the hammer on a live rd via the safety was intriguing.
I held off trying to sell it thinking no way is there 2 people this fucking stupid to own one. Then one day, Chumlee's doppelganger appeared in front of me, bye bye.
LOl, glad yours worked for you!

Who’s lower?

Love that rear sight.

You rebel! Mounting better sights in the red dot spot.

Hmmmm…..

The M17 is my son's pistol. I have an M18. The grip is a Brouwer 1811 -- they're working to get an NSN (if they don't already have it). Think poor man's Staccato.

Better than M9 (but it takes a trigger job and aftermarket barrel):

Mmmmm, so many questions and comments.

Never was a Beretta fan, fat round, long trigger pull. Bought one in 04 because I had a lot of cruise money and the range had it on sale. Added a short trigger and Langdon Trigger Job in a Bag. Still fat but better trigger pull.

To the OP, Glock 19. To start an argument Glock 21 with a Glock 30 as a Chicago reload.

No input on the M-17/18, it's not my generation. My first 9 was a 226.

I don’t really care about the Berwtta vs Sig debate, but current gen Beretta Mec-gar mags hold 18 rnds flush fit, plus you can get +5 extensions (same as the Canik).

Everyone that grew up in the 80’s has to have at least one 92 in the collection. Because Martin Riggs and John MacLane.

My one Beretta is a 92G with all of Langdon Tactical’s goodies installed, including their RDO since me old eyes have a hard time focusing on irons anymore. Being a DA/SA fan personally I think the G model decocker is the way to go.

My Taurus 92 has only failed to function when I had a heavy spring in it and forgot to put oil on it for 3 or 4 matches. I abuse it. It's been wet in the woods, shot probably 2,000+ rounds through it with barely a hickup. I did send it back to Taurus because the barrel was starting to put marks in the frame, they put a new locking block in it.
One time I shot a hog at 30 yards with it. Was a perfect shot.
The only reason I'm not shooting it now is because I am concentrating on my Limited Optics gun for 2024.

Keep the locking block lightly oiled. It will run forever.
