Sorry had this in the wrong forum.
So I am reposting

Few questions I'm try to find answers too.

Wondering if anyone has swapped out their factory Bergara B14R barrel?
I am going to upgrade the factory barrel to an IBI barrel and need some advice on how to remove the factory barrel.
I have the Short Action Customs wrench and #1 insert which fits the action but stops at the ejector.
Do I need to remove the ejector to get the action wrench right up to the face of barrel or do I unthread the barrel with the wrench just before the ejector.

Thank you.

Barrel vise/clamp, action wrench, and some heat.. That’s according to an Instagram account I ran across that replaced his B14R barrel with an IBI. As far as removing the ejector, I have no idea.

not sure why the ejector would need to be removed, that's part of the action, not the barrel. Am I missing something?

I think he wants to get the action wrench in further or wants to know if it's ok to have the action wrench that far back. Honestly, I'd want to know too as I wouldn't want to twist the action trying to get the barrel off.

The ejector is pinned in place - No big deal to take it out if necessary.
Here's an IBI fitted by a Canadian - Looks the part!

Not on. Bergara, but Ray @ Zermatt w/ RimX actions says to leave the Ejector in place. That is where the action wrench has the most contact with material to mate against. This is what I have done in my recent swap. My first install I took the ejector out and placed a piece of Kidex on the breach face. There is less contact in the race ways that close to the barrel.

My only concern with removing the action from before the ejector would be twisting the action.
