Bergara Barreled Short Action- KRG Whiskey

Need some wisdom. Going slowly ($ reasons) to build a rifle. I am going to start with buying a KRG Whiskey Chassis to eventually purchase the barreled action i want. In the meantime would my Bergara HMR Wilderness 6.5 creedmoor work with the chassis.

Yes the Bergara is a Remington 700 clone.
