After much thought, I ordered a Bergara HMR Pro in 300 Win Mag. Rifle cost less than the Mark 5 going on top of it. I will need a muzzle brake, as I am not going to use a suppressor, at least not for the year+ it will take to get through the waiting line. 5/8” x24 threads, so please offer advice on a quality brake. I have zero experience with brakes. A2 Flash hiders are as close as I have gotten to one. 🤫
Gracias!

I’m using an Ultradyne Apollo S on HMR Pro in 6mm. It’s self timing, fits up beautifully and performs flawlessly. Not only is it quieter than other brakes on the market, there is very little ground disturbance and little blowback to the other shooters on the line. All of the guys on our range last week were amazed at how the gun sounds almost like it’s not even running a brake. Finally it tamed my already light recoiling gun to the point it feels like a .223. A light recoiling .223.
I picked it after a helluva lot of research. This is based on my 6mm of course.

Cadex MX1. They have 3 different versions of it, the MX1, mini, and micro. I have the first version, they just released the smaller ones and I wish I had the mini now that it's out, because its a tad big for my HMR pro, but holy hell does it work nice. The blast is substantial, but the recoil isn't even there. It would be great for a 300 wm

Have the same set up on my HMR .300wm with Mark5 5x25. I use the MPA brake.

Recoil is ridiculously low with the 190gr and 200gr rounds I have been using. If I had to quantify I would say below a .243. In hind site it is long on a 26" barrel. But if you only want the recoil reduction A+++

HTH

Self timing, muzzle brakes and more has the best for the lowest price. I like the APA and Area 419 brakes too. I have on lil bastard and three hellfires
