I apologize if this has been covered but I’m looking at these two rifles in 6.5 Creedmore and can’t find any store locally that carries either rifle locally to put hands on. In South Florida the hunting market is dwarfed by the AR market.
So I’m interested in how these rifles differ in stock feel, triggers, and overall quality and shooting ability. I’m looking for a rifle for hunting and target shooting with some long range shooting. Do either of the brakes these gunmakers offer work better than the other? I’d considered the 6.5 PRC which would push me to Seekins but I’ve been told the ammo choices are somewhat limiting relative to 6.5 Creedmore, and the recoil is 33 per cent more
Anybody with experience in either rifle or who has experience with both, please share your thoughts.

In that price range I’d rather have a Christensen MPR, or spend a little more money and get a Q The Fix.

Between those though, Seekins all day. If that Bergara was in the $1000-$1200 range I could see it being a good value but at $1800 they are overpriced for what you’re getting IMO. I actually entertained the idea of getting an approach in 6mm Creedmoor for groundhogs but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth the price tag.

Appreciate the feedback Ive gotten that vibe but was unsure if the lower priced Bergaras were influencing public opinion. Can you tell me a little about your experiences with them?

I've had their uppers/lower on a few builds and they are steller quality. I also exclusively run there rings on my rifles and they a pretty much bomb proof.

You are referring to the Bergara Premier Approach? What factors swayed you against buying the Bergara? What about the Seekins do you prefer? What did you end up buying?

That’s correct, I don’t feel like it’s worth the price tag. At $1800 it’s into the price range of better rifles like the MPR, Havak, and some others. A $1800 rifle should have a better barrel, they aren’t horrible but all they are is a regular Bergara barrel that’s lapped. The Seekins for example uses a top tier Rock Creek barrel.

The Seekins is just a great factory rifle, I wish they still used the McMillan stocks as I like them more than theirs that they’re using now but they’re still good stocks. I just never bought a Havak because there’s other rifles in the same price range that I’ve liked more.

I really loved my MPR. It was a great rifle. Action is on par with the Seekins and Bergara, has a carbon barrel which is lighter, and the chassis is way better than the stocks on either of the others. The MPR chassis is really damn nice actually.

I didn’t buy a rifle to fill this niche yet but I’ve got a Weatherby Accumark 243 and a Q The Fix 6mm Creedmoor and also a 6.5mm Creedmoor barrel for it that I’ll just end up using to shoot groundhogs.

I have a Bergara HMR Pro in 6.5C and a Seekins Havak Pro Hunter also in 6.5C. I like the Trigger Tech trigger on the Bergara better and I have been much happier withe the bolt/action feel on the Bergara. I have been shooting both in PRS matches and from my experience/perspective hands down I would go with the Bergara Premier. I want to by a premier hunting rifle but don't need another hunter considering a Premier stalker for silhouette. BTW both have been equally accurate, maybe the Bergara a touch better.

Thanks so much for your input. This is extremely helpful and exactly what I was looking for. Id buy the Bergara Premier Approach vs the Seekins Pro Hunter. I know the stock is glass and heavier on the Bergara and carbon fiber and lighter on the Seekins. Have you compared the feel and balance of the two hunting style stocks? From an aesthetics perspective I like the look of the Seekins better but thats way down the list of deciding factors. The trigger information is another story. What Ive read about the Bergara sounds like the got the input of our special forces and made the rifle following their suggestions.

I have the Bergara Approach that got off of Gunbroker in October for $1649 new. The test group that came with gun was .416. I have been getting tighter groups than that with some hole in hole at 100 yards. Love the trigger and easy cleaning lapped barrel. I like the sturdy stock on the Approach. I was hesitant in ordering it without trying the stock. But I was very pleased how well it fitted me. It is a heavy rifle but I am only walking 50 yards out my back door to shoot beanfield deer from a platform. The only other gun I was considering was the Browning XBolt McMillan. But it was $1900 and I think the Bergara barrels are better.

Guess I went looking answers and landed on the thread ...I was looking for a do all out west distance hunting rifle. Im a lowly civil servant and don’t make a bunch of money. I purchased the Bergara Premiere Approach from Grabagun for around $1500 on November 14, 2019. I did the YouTube videos and internet searches for my decision. Most I ever spent on a rifle. Picked up the rifle from my FFL like Christmas morning...opened it up when I got home damn...They apparently don’t put the range card in the box anymore just a card with the person that put the rifle together and the average grouping. Well quality and control must have taken the day off. Damage to the stock by the action where the safety is. So I emailed and called leaving a message...no response for a week I get it holidays. Called them again said they would send me a new stock after I emailed 2 different people with pics...I just have to mount it myself. Well I guess I get to buy some gun smithing tools now. Just figured they would throw some swag my way or just follow up. Will be my last rifle from the company. Just have to wait to shoot it and see if anything else missed quality and control inspections. I get it things happen during manufacturing but customers service ehhhh..just FYI anyone looking to purchase one of these ...
