Re: Best .308 Ammo Prices?

SW Ammunition's as good as it gets for factory ammo at a great price from great guys!

And don't go blaming it on the ammo when youmiss that 1/2moa shot at 1K Mr Davis

Re: Best .308 Ammo Prices?

Ha, thats funny man. If I miss I sure the hell won't be blaming the ammo...it'll all be on me.

After building a new rifle...I am wondering if I should shoot different loads for different ranges due to ballistic performance of different bullet weights. 147gr SA is my crap ammo for shooting steel out to 400 and works great...but not so great for 400+. Longer range stuff I will have to work out...either 155 or 185 should do the trick...just a question or what shoots better out of my rifle.

So, when I take on the challenge with my friend I want to shoot it cold bore with a "factory" load. Does Southwest Ammo count as factory even though they are a smaller company that builds top notch stuff from what I have heard and seen? Or, should I just shoot it with black hills of federal gold match king?

And just for a laugh...somone mentioned a .416 cheytac as a joke. Funny, but my next project might either be that or .458 SOCOM. I just like totally ridiculous weapons and the ammo that goes with them.

Thanks for the info on SWA.

We have world ship with UPS. We do our best to save our customers money so they can shoot more ammo.

Re: Best .308 Ammo Prices?

Thanks for posting the info about the Nosler sale jasonk. Called them and they said the promo is running through May 15th. Picked up 9 boxes of the 168s for around $154 shipped. I only wish they would make ammo with there 175s, but for <$1 per round, I couldn't pass up giving the 168s a try.

Ill say that. Has been for me.

Thing you have to remember is that there is a difference between 168 and 175.

If your shooting at closer distances then 168 may be for you, it generally will hold tighter groups then 175 up close.

If you plan on pushing out on further then look to the 175. Will do much better at distance for you then the 168.

Use the search function and you can read up on the details between the two.

Decide which round is better for your needs. I shoot everything from 100 to +1K, so I stick to the 175.

Either way, if it were me... Id shoot the Southwest Ammo, and I do. I believe it to be of better quality at an amazing price.

Palmetto now has .308 WIN FGMM 175gr. for $20.95 per box

Re: Best .308 Ammo Prices?

+1 for southwest.
i normally try to shoot Blackhills, except it retails for $37 a box locally. not real comfortable w/ internet purchases. Decided to try Southwest, wont turn back. $1 a round for match grade shipped to your door (fast shipping) cant be beat.
Great CS too.

Re: Best .308 Ammo Prices?

+2 For Southwest Ammo. I bought a few boxes of .308 and they shoot great and are competitively priced. Also Triad Tactical sells Black Hills cheaper than anywhere else I've found. I swear someone needs to open a higher end shop in oregon.

Re: Best .308 Ammo Prices?

Just picked up Federal match 168 & 175gr match for 178 per case-200 rounds each. Gun show special! should break in the new AR quite well!

Can you show me where you are seeing $1 a round on their site? I don't see it. What do they charge for shipping?

Thanks
