Best bang for the buck action in R700 platform?

If you catch them on sale for under $800, the Solus won't be beaten. It has an integral full-length 20MOA rail on top, and an integral recoil lug. It's also factory cut for AICS & AW mags. Has a trigger hanger system that removes the trigger with only one T10 Torx bit. Interchangeable bolt handles and bolt heads. Dual ejectors in the bolt heads. 60º bolt throw. 3-lug bolt design. Nicely finished. And very smooth once they break-in after a couple hundred rounds. I'm up to 5 of them now...Got all of them on sale, and very happy with them. They all shoot really well. Some have factory Aero/BA barrels, and the rest have Proof Research and CarbonSix CF barrels on them. All shoot great.

Solus - you can read FuhQ's post for the description of the Solus. They use Origin Prefit barrels. They, ostensibly, offer bolt faces for .223, 308 family, and magnum caseheads but availability and delivery is a problem. No SPC or PPC bolt faces for ARC family cartridges. Spare parts and a'la carte bolt face purchases are currently a nightmare or just existent right now. Uses a trigger hanger; same deal as the Evo. If you happen to get a trigger that doesn't time we'll with the action I'm not sure if you time the action via the hanger or the old school way of fitting the cocking piece. Since they don't offer different hanger sizes, I'd guess it's the latter. If so, they don't seem to offer spare cocking pieces for timing. Since their customer service and spare parts availability is non extenstent I wouldn't expect any sort of technical service either. $650 usually
Totally unbiased compared to all the others mentioned… 🤣😂🤣

ARC CDG - 3 lug, 75*(?), swappable bolt faces in all casehead sizes under Lapua magnum, high quality coating, various bolt knobs and scope rail options, uses a trigger hanger with various sizes to time sear engagement, prefits available but as a newer action with a unique breech requirement the availability of prefits is a bit more limited than the Origin. ARC has historically had decent customer service but there has been issues in the past with the company not supporting older action designs, the owners and designer is pretty eccentric and imo makes him unreliable with future support and decisions. He seems to move on to his newest pet design every couple of years. Controlled round feed, mechanical ejector. Really cool action but not quite priced as a budget action at $1200. May not be the best beginner action based on the trigger hanger timing.

I have a couple CDGs and can speak to this. The trigger hanger does not have various sizes for timing the trigger. It's adjustable via a set screw in the front. Takes about 5min to dial in the timing then you lock it down with the screw in the back. When you're done you have smooth bolt close.

Prefits definitely aren't as plentiful as the Origin if you're buying used barrels. I only use 3 gunsmiths for prefits (new barrels only) so I'm not 100% of the availability from other smiths.

The "unique breech requirement" is simply a coned breech. If a gunsmith can machine and measure that (following the directions from ARC) I wouldn't trust them to chamber a barrel anyway. It's really basic machining.

I've not been in the custom action world to comment on the company's reliability with spare parts so I can't comment much on that. I will say they still have legacy parts on the website and I can't imagine they'd refuse to help if you needed parts for older actions.

Solus, if you get it through aero just be patient or get it through a distributor like Blackhawk armory or primary.

Prefits, savage barrels can be found cheap from places time north land shooters, aero has cheap prefits regularly, integrated pic rail, integrated recoil lug, can get different bolt heads from .382, .478, .540

Love mine, shoot with guys in prs that have them and no issues. It feeds and ejects every time
