Been using GPS before it was commercial - there were only 3 SVs with very limited availability. I have used Trimbles for land surveying & mapping, and Magellan and Garmins for offshore navigation.
Then I used a friend's 530HCx and was so impressed with the receiver performance, I bought one. It will attain 3D position inside buildings.
The unit is feature packed, including barometer. An SD card can be added for USGS topo maps. There is an integrated FRS/GMRS radio that when enabled, will transmit coordinates to another 530 and indicate location on map display - a great feature at the lease.
Got mine at Fry's on sale - $399
The GPSMAP 60CSx is essentially the same unit without the radio.
