Best Muzzle Break for a 6.5 Creedmoor?

Hi all!

Still new to the PRS world and I wanna hear everyone’s opinions on 6.5 Creed muzzle breaks! I’ve currently got a 2 port brake that came on my custom build, but I’m looking for something more effective!

Thats the one thing I dont disagree with him on, I hate em.

I say the 419 hellfire but thats just because you can take it off and put the silencer onto the same adapter the brake goes on.

I like the area 419. The taper attachment is genius! The brake is as effective as anything else I’ve used.

I put a limbsaver slip on recoil pad on my 6 Dasher.

To answer OP:
I have a Area 419 on my 308, it is very nice. I got an extra adapter so I could swap the brake from my 308 over to my 6.5 Creedmoor, it helped a lot for both.

I have the Area 419 on two rifles and love it. Have not tried to other two mentioned so cannot comment on them.

Insite Arms Heathen.

Have owned both the Area 419 and the APA little bastard, and overall, the Heathen is the better and more refined brake.

I own 4 or 5 heathens. Sold the APA with a rifle, and the Area 419 brake is collecting dust as the jam nut/collar is locked onto the brake tighter than a nuns c*nt. The Area 419 also has really sharp gills, so if it jams up on you, don't attempt to unjam it by hand. I like Area 419 products, but honestly I'm disappointed in their brake, and I was expecting a more refined product from them.

Some of those in my precision rifle circles have also moved on from the Area 419 to the Heathen, for the same reasons.

I vote for the brake that makes your shooting partner hate your guts and not want to lay prone next to you in team matches. Makes for fun dialogue that goes like this; “man your brake is blowing gasses right into my eyes”, “nah man it’s not that bad” “it is bad when I’m laying next to you” “(shooter) it doesn’t bother me at all” “ (me) after about 20 rounds just quits spotting and instead closes eyes every shot” “hey man are you spotting still?” “Nah I’ve got terrible eye strain from your brake so I’ve been closing them” “don’t be such a pussy shooter willl say.”

Love brakes but fuck you, the shooter for not thinking they are a total pita shooting side by side.

Use a suppressor. I’m to the point now in my shooting that I don’t really want to to shoot unsuppressed. It’s the best of both worlds. Excellent muzzle control and -35db

Ive Had every brake mentioned and then some. The heathen and pva jet blast were my favorites. Slight edge to the jet blast.

I’ve have a Heathen on my 28nos and a Spartan Precision Kopis on my 6mm creed.... they are both really nice. I like the Kopis as it’s not as long, and the recoil of the 6mm is so minimal anyways. Very easy to spot shots with both brakes. They are both very similar one has three vents and one has two.

Hey, my 419 brake did exactly the same so I’ve switched to the Heathen too. Far superior design.

I tried a strap wrench on the 419 but it wouldn’t budge and actually ripped the strap to pieces. 419 guys had me hit the jam but/collar really hard with a piece of wood. It didn’t do any damage to the brake but it’s now free and doesn’t lock up if it don’t tighten it too much.
