So I broke down today and bought a Sig P238. When the Ruger LCP came out I really considered buying one to have a super compact backup gun, but I'm a 1911 guy and just didn't want all my muscle memory to get me killed switching between firearms. When the P238 came out I knew I had to get one and today I had a day off and went shopping.

This is not mine, but looks just like it:

Anyhow, now I need to find a holster to stick it in. It came with a crappy little OWB holster but I'm used to my milt sparks VMII and would like something a little more concealed and slim than the plastic OWB holster it came with. I'd like to find a nice IWB holster, pocket holster or both.

I'd seen commercials for the Cross Breed Holsters and thought the idea was pretty convincing. Looks like a nice setup and I'm really thinking of getting one unless anyone has a better suggestion.

Anyways, enough rambling, if you have a holster for a subcompact that you like, especially a P238 I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks

I carry daily using a tuckable high noon holster for a similar sized gun. Its not molded and is fairly inexpensive ($40), keeps the gun in place and has adjustable retention.

Is it the best holster made? Probably not... But it does hold the gun nice and snug, keeps it where I like it, rides low enough to tuck over the gun and not print, and is very comfortable for daily carry. It's thin too so there's no problem carrying under a t-shirt or thin shorter shirt.

I carry a .380 in this http://pocketholsters.com/Sig_P238_Pocket_Holster_/sig_p238_pocket_holster_.html when I have to carry one.

I use a Crossbreed Supertuck with a 1911 .45 cocked and locked most of the time so I expect one would work very well for the P238. I would consider the Crossbreed micro-clip for a pistol that size in a IWB application.

Great looking pistol!

ggmanning-

How do you like that pocket holster? I was going back and forth between that one and the one sold by RKBA http://www.rkbaholsters.com/Sig%20P238.htm

I went with the one from RKBA just because it sounded like that holster covered the safety somewhat.

I asked him to trim part of the leather (pictured below) and he didn't think that would be a problem, also asked that he extend the leather over the safety and he said that would be doable too.

I'm excited to see how it turns out, will post when I get it.

Shawn I really like it. I have been using it for a couple of years.. I like the panel that gives the gun full coverage...looks just like a wallet in anything I wear. It took about 2-3 weeks to break in but has held up very well.
