I am willing to bet you will see a big difference. For starters 5R 1-11.25twist sps 1-12, the chamber is cut different too I think same reamer as used in a 40x. The 5R with 175smks will put 5 into .4 if not .3 at 100yds. I don't think you could do that with an Sps Varmint. I you don't want to rebarrel and want dead nuts accuracy and a gun that will shoot point of aim for 125 rounds without cleaning and not burn out untill 5000 rnds or more than go with the 5R. </div></div>
You have obviously never owned both to compare, or either for that matter.
To the OP,
Most of the 5r prestige is hype. They do shoot great, but not $500 or more better IMHO. As bsp stated, the resale is better, so if you are not planning on keeping it buy the 5r.
