Hey guys, it has come to my attention that the "lockout" function of the blade on my accutrigger is a total pain in the ass when shooting with heavy gloves. Im really not that fond of the trigger anyways, and would like to replace it with a nice aftermarket. It seems that the SSS trigger and the Rifle Basix Sav-2 are the front runners for the savage guns.

Have any of you had specific experience with both? How did ease of adjustment and install go? I am competent with most mechanical things and have access to a full shop full of tools to deal with most anything. If you had to pick one which is better and why?

Anyone with experience with just one or the other is welcome to chime in with anything as well.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Best Savage Aftermarket Triggers

I have a SSS "Competition" trigger in a 10FP. The rifle originally had a Timney. I like it much better than the Timney. I didn't install it but it comes with complete instructions and tools to install. No mods to the rifle are required, but you will have to adjust it after installation.

I'm pretty happy with my SAV 2 trigger. I set it up and it's never let me down. I went with the rifle basix because of it's huge amount of adjustment range.

Re: Best Savage Aftermarket Triggers

have a rifle basix in my .308, my mkii, and in my marlin. adjustability is good, passed drop tests (EMPTY CHAMBER) with and without safety on, passed slamfire tests also. that's with adjustment down to 3/4lb pull. IMHO pretty damn good for the price.

installation was easy, ease of adjustment sucks here and there as you may have to remove the stock to get to the adjustment screws, but once set, they are pleasurable.
