Hunting & Fishing Best sub-sonic .22 ammo 4 hunting w/suppressor

Re: Best sub-sonic .22 ammo for hunting

Also a note if you look at midways site they give muzzle velocity for each loading. You just have to pick it and look at the Ballistics Information.

Re: Best sub-sonic .22 ammo 4 hunting w/suppressor

Excuse me, I have a suppressor. I'm looking for a sub that has the most amount of energy without exiting. The remingtons I've been using go in and put.

Re: Best sub-sonic .22 ammo 4 hunting w/suppressor

Lol I know what subsonic ammo speeds are. What I'm needing is subsonic ammo that will expand or at least stay inside squirrels. I can't be having the bullet rip through and potentially hit something. Squirrels

+1 cci segmented sub. I still mostly run the cci regular ss ammo through mine, much much cleaner than the Rem SS ammo.

I do squirrel control in pop's little neighborhood and I just wait until I have a shot with the tree as the bullet stop. Otherwise get a pellet gun, eventually going to miss if you're making limbshots.

Re: Best sub-sonic .22 ammo 4 hunting w/suppressor

That segmented one from cci is nice. It can be hard to find though. If you do find it, make sure you are getting the subsonic one... the packaging between the faster lighter ones and the subs looks pretty much the same.

If you are really worried about your rounds down range, ditch the suppressor and run the Colibri ammunition. Not as accurate though, and you will need to place a good shot.

Like south said, use the tree for a backstop.

Thanks, I'll take a look at these.

CCI Standard velocity is subsonic, so your statement is confusing. It's rated at 1070 fps. It's also the cheapest out there
Winchester subsonic is rated at 1065
RWS is really quiet 1000 fps but most expensive
Gemtech stuff is just CCI made loaded to 1020 fps so I imagine its very similar to the RWS
